Malaysia’s three top radio stations, ERA, MY FM and THR Raaga with the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) Charity Fund are proud to announce that the collection of the ‘Nadi 1Malaysia’ campaign launched last Thursday collected RM213,502.93 for children in need of urgent heart surgeries and post treatments.
Part of a long term partnership with NSTP Charity Fund, the campaign’s objective is to create awareness and raise funds to aid these children and their families with their medical expenses incurred. As of Wednesday 18 November, the stations have exceeded the initial target of RM135,000, and managed to collect the said for the cause! With the good response and extra funds gained thus far, we are sure to help more Malaysian children in need. For all the kindness, ERA, MY FM and THR Raaga, give kudos to all Malaysians who made this charity drive a success and hope to receive continued support from the listeners in aid of this cause.
On Thursday, 12 November 2009, ERA, MY FM and THR Raaga appealed to the listeners to donate money to the NSTP Charity Fund, through telegraphic transfer to CIMB 1411 - 238 5256 - 01- 0. A first ever 12-hour charity drive, from 6am to 6pm that Thursday, many listeners called in the stations and requested for songs or made dedications, in return for their donation. What made it more interesting is that even local celebrities joined in the fund-raising activity, with generous donations received from artists like Anita Sarawak, Ajai, Dr Fazley and Andy Flop Poppy.
Due to the overwhelming response received during the first intensive 12-hour campaign, the three stations plan to hold another “Nadi 1Malaysia” 12-hour campaign in the near future to further increase public awareness and help more children in need. The objective for the next campaign aims for companies, big or small, to pledge their donations this time round.
Listeners can continue to donate to the cause by sending their donations to the NSTP Charity Fund: CIMB 1411 - 238 5256 - 01- 0. Listeners can also send donations through cheque, made payable to New Straits Times Sdn Bhd with ‘Nadi 1Malaysia’, name, address and contact number written on the back, to Cashier/ Charity Unit, The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Balai Berita, 31 Jalan Riong, 59100, Kuala Lumpur.
