Kuala Lumpur, 13 January 2010: Great news for iPhone users! AMP Radio Networks has expanded its iPhone Radio Application range, to include all eight stations under its belt, with even more interesting features for listeners to enjoy. Now, listeners can listen to content on demand from ERA, MYFM, hitz.fm, MIX fm, LiteFM, SINAR, XFM and THR Raaga on their iPhone.

Available for download on the iTunes App Store for FREE, listeners can obtain the radio streaming or podcast application called iCast, to keep in touch with their favourite radio station on the go. The AMP radio streaming application enables listening of the radio station via the Maxis 3G Network or any WiFi Connection, and allows “rewinding” up to 45 minutes of audio, which means you can play a song you’ve just heard for over and over again!

The iCast application on the other hand allows download of the latest content from the stations, such as on-air features like the hitz.fm Gotcha Call, hitz.fm Hollywood Hook-up, MYFM Palace Comedy, ERA’s Sawancara and much more. The application also allows users to get updated on the latest station events. The AMP iPhone apps works with Apple iPhone, iPhone 3GS, or iPod Touch. Future updates to the applications would include more features.

Also available on the App Store is AMP’s Satu Malaysia App which allows users to listen to AMP’s very own “Satu Malaysia” song, submit feedback and also view the music video produced by AMP.

“We have been working very hard to develop these applications as we see radio listeners consuming media in very different ways. In our efforts to support nation building, we launched the Satu Malaysia App which allows feedback and viewing of the content that has been created by our stations. Now with the iCasts, users can get the best bits from the station anytime on their iPhone,” says Jayaram Nagaraj, AMP Interactive Manager.

AMP was the first radio broadcaster in Malaysia to feature radio streaming applications on smart phones, and only second in the world to feature its technology in Grid-Casting. Its first introduction of the mobile radio application for its top four stations last year quickly gained popularity among the iPhone users, winning "The Best Mobility Applications and Services" for The 2009 inOvation Malaysia Awards in October 2009, as recognition for its mobile content initiatives.
